Mental Health Help for Kids Gets Boost - KDRV
Date: March 21, 2014
More than half a million dollars in grants are coming to a southern Oregon organization that helps kids with a diagnosis of a mental health illness.
Kairos, which used to be known as SOASTC, is in Grants Pass. It will now have $275,000 dollars from the Ford Family Foundation and $250,000 from the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust.
This is on top of the $350,000 granted in December from the Meyer Memorial Trust.
All of this money is going to build a new psychiatric residential facility that contains a crisis unit. There is also a community services building that’s already been completed.
Kairos has to raise $250,000 dollars in matching funds. You can find out more about Kairos, here.
