Kairos gets new building - KTVL

Date: April 1, 2014

GRANTS PASS, Ore.- Intensive mental health program for children, adolescents, young adults and their families, Kairos, held an open house this evening to show its newest facility.

The new building has a treatment foster care program, a school community team where staff goes into schools to help students with mental health problems, and has administration offices.

"Kairos" is a Greek word meaning "the moment when change is possible."  The development of the new children's mental health campus is in response to growth and demand for mental health services in the Rogue Valley and southern Oregon.

The facility's interior helps set a positive environment for those suffering from mental health problems.

"We want the environment to be a soothing and comforting place that doesn't create a sense of stress or anxiety," said Bob Lieberman, the CEO of Kairos.

Kairos operates out of 10 locations around the Rogue Valley and has strong community support.

"Our ability to do this is based on a great deal of collaborations with local community mental health programs and options with Jackson County health and great partnerships we have locally," said Lieberman.

The new building is now open.  For more information about Kairos, visit their Web site at kairosnw.org.
