Relief Skills Coach (New Beginnings)

Kairos is in search of a Relief/On-call Skills Coach at its New Beginnings Facility in Grants Pass, Oregon. The Skills Coach assists in the care and treatment of youth and young adults with psychiatric needs by providing a consistent presence, skills training and emotional support in a safe and secure manner in a residential treatment home.

Kairos is a non-profit, multi-service mental health agency that provides a comprehensive array of services and support to children, adolescents, young adults, and families struggling with trauma and other mental and behavioral issues.  Known state-wide and nationally for innovation, quality, and accountability in its provision of services, Kairos is committed to continuous learning and grounding of evidence based treatment models and emerging best practices in mental health through partnerships and training opportunities with leaders in the mental health field. Over its 39 years it has grown in scope and now operates out of five counties. Kairos is licensed by the Oregon Department of Human Services and is certified by the Oregon Health Authority, and has been accredited by The Joint Commission since 1984.

Only candidates who are QMHAs (having a combination of either 3 years' related work experience and/or education) can be considered for this position. Previous work at a non-profit, out-patient, community setting and/or with treatment foster care, in-home support services, trauma-informed care, family-driven and youth guided practice is preferred. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and Medicaid fraud check. In addition, qualified candidates are required to have a valid driver's license with 3 years minimum driving experience and hold a safe driving record.

This is a part-time position with on-call shifts that include day, swing and overnight as needed.

Depending on the candidate’s experience, compensation ranges from $13.07-$18.173 hourly.
