Kairos Coastline Services – New Building – Open House

An Open House for Kairos Coastline Services (2020 Thompson Road, Coos Bay) will be held on Monday, October 1st from 4 to 6 pm.  A ribbon cutting ceremony with Kairos and the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will be held at 4:30 pm.

The Coastline Service building is a brand new building for Kairos.  The Coastline Services team has been housed in the North Bend School District for the past 10 years.  The agency conducted a fundraising campaign, the Coastline Community Capacity Campaign, from 2016 to 2018 and raised $1.3 million to erect the building.

 The below Foundations contributed to the campaign via grant support:

  •  MJ Murdock Charitable Trust $250,000
  • Advanced Health $200,000
  • The Ford Family Foundation of the Oregon Community Foundation $200,000
  • Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund $100,000
  • Oregon Health Authority $97,317
  • The Collins Foundation $60,000
  • The Oregon Community $50,000
  • Coquille Tribal Community Fund $7,500
  • Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation $7,500

 

Additionally for the past two Dutch Bros of Coos Bay/North Bend held “Kairos Give Back Days” which contributed $8,000 towards the campaign.   

Kairos also received gift-in-kind support from Coos Health & Wellness, Rich Ward & Associates, Westby Associates, and Youth ERA (formerly Youth MOVE Oregon).

Kairos provides an invaluable service to youth in our community,” said Craig Norton, Kairos Executive Director. “The support from our community has been overwhelming to help Kairos continue to address the growing need for mental health services in our area for an underserved population.”

Kairos is a mental health agency headquartered in Grants Pass, Oregon is a children’s mental health agency providing a range of intensive psychiatric and community based services to young people age 4 to 17.  It operates in five Counties, serving young people and families from all over Southern Oregon as well as the state. It is accredited by the Joint Commission and has received accolades for its quality, effectiveness, and innovation.
